FREE Ham or Turkey for Easter AND FREE Axe Body Wash!

What could be better than free meat and bath products! LOL Seriously, there is a rebate for a free ham or turkey (up to $20) in the Unilever insert from this past Sunday. Click here for more information on the rebate as well as other participating products. It states that you have to purchase $40 in Unilever products and the meat to qualify for the rebate. There is also a $1/1 Axe body wash coupon in the same insert. Walmart carries the trial size of these body washes for .97 each. The coupon does not exclude trial sizes and should work for these. So the deal goes like this: Buy 42 of the trial size bodywashes with the $1/1 coupons (FREE), then purchase your ham or turkey, and then submit the rebate for your refund on the price of your meat! FREE all around! This is an AWESOME deal! It's a great deal with just the free body wash as my husband loves this stuff. Even better with free meat! Happy shopping!

On an end cap at Target there were a whole bunch of Johnson’s baby items clearance priced. Most were 20oz bottles of shampoo, wash and lotion. There was also Desitin and Aveeno Baby Shampoo and Wash. All were $2.54.

Hopefully you can find these at your Target too! Please post a comment if you find some too.

UPDATE: If you can find the Johnson’s products at your Target AND your Target will allow you to use more than one Target coupon in a single transaction, I recommend you do this scenario:

Buy 1 Buddies Bar - $.97

Buy 1 Johnson’s Product - $2.54

-Use $1/1 Buddies HERE, HERE or HERE

-Use $1/1 Johnson’s HERE, HERE or HERE

-Use 2 $.75/1 Target coupon HERE

The Buddies and Johnson's coupons appear to have been reset once again! It seems to happen about once per month now. Even if you can't find these at your Target, be sure to print these anyway for FREE Buddies and cheap Johnson's products. Happy shopping!

World Autism Awareness Day

Today is World Autism Awareness Day. Because my oldest little guy is affected with this horrible illness, this holds a special place in my heart. So much more research is needed to understand what this disease is and why it happens. Did you know:

  • Approximately 67 million people worldwide are affected by autism.

  • Autism is fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the world

  • More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with diabetes, cancer and AIDS combined.

  • Boys are four times more likely to have autism than girls.

  • There is no medical detection or cure for autism, but early diagnosis and intervention improves outcomes.

The baby is NOT USB Compatible...

Some kids try and stick their fingers in electric sockets, some get their hands caught in doors and some seem to manage to hit their head on every sharp table corner. Of course Jack has to be different.... there is no way he could possibly submit to any of the regular household dangers.

Today I discovered that my youngest son is not USB compatible. When I found him sucking on the end of my camera cable I was initially worried about him electrocuting himself but then had to laugh as the following error appeared on the screen. From this point onwards all cables will be safely hidden and Jack will be connected to the PC using bluetooth instead!

First Quarter 2009 - Savings Summary!

Woohoo! I have just done the math and at the end of the first quarter 2009, we have saved just under $4000 and with savings of just under 85% on my purchases. In reality it is probably a little higher than this as the numbers do not include target gift cards, register rewards etc but life is too short for all that math!

We are currently on track to save around $16000 for this year so stick with me, keep on reading the blog and hopefully we can all save together!

Target Score!

I hit Target again this evening to pick up a few more Cheetos and fruit snacks. I also picked up a couple of things we needed like printer paper (gotta be able to print those coupons!) and water. I used Target printables for the Cheetos and the fruit snacks and then used 4 of the $4 Pace coupons (including overage!) on my salsa. I love Target! Here's the math:

Total Before Coupons: $58.42
Total Money Spent: $3.76
Total Saved: $54.66 (94%)

Quick Trip To Target

I made a quick trip to Target last night for Cheetos and fruit snacks. I was able to score 10 Cheetos and 15 of the fruit snacks. My Target stores are lenient on the "1 Target coupon per transaction" rule, so I was able to do all of these together. The fruit snacks are the ones near the registers for .89 each. Because the cashier did not adjust them down to the actual price, I got overage of .11 each to go towards my Cheetos and tax! Sweet! Here's the math:

Total Before Coupons: $28.28
Total Money Spent: $1.35
Total Saved: $26.93 (95%)

Walgreens Steps Up To Help Jobless!

I was very impressed when I read this article on Yahoo yesterday. Walgreens will be offering free care clinics at their Take Care Clinics to those who lose their job and health insurance after 3/31/09. The free clinics will run Mon-Fri from 11am to 3pm. The clinics will offer free treatment for respiratory problems, allergies, infections and skin conditions, among other ailments. Free services won’t include free checkups, vaccinations or other injections, but things that people may need from urgent care center or even an emergency room. Spouses and children are also eligible for free services if they are also uninsured. Find the Take Care Clinic closest to you here. Although demand is uncertain the free clinic hours are expected to run through the end of 2009.
